Château exhibition - Travel Fever. When the nobility set out into the World.

The entrance to the premises of the State Château Červené Poříčí, which is combined with the tour of the exhibition "Travel Fever. When the nobility set out into the World.", represent a new tour route at the Château Červené Poříčí, which will take visitors to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries - to the time, when a passion for travel literally broke out among the European aristocracy. The exhibition presents the transformations of aristocratic travel and the flourishing of tourist routes through authentic exhibits from the collections of historic buildings of the National Heritage Institute. The main line of the exhibition is the presentation of the travels of the nobility to various corners of the world and the ways in which aristocrats traveled - from railways to distant overseas expeditions. Visitors will learn about the items that the nobility packed on their travels to maintain their comfort even far from home, and about various motivations for traveling - from therapeutic stays in spas to sightseeing trips to world and industrial exhibitions. The connection of distant landscapes with the Château Červené Poříčí will be introduced by the personality of Wolfert Katz, the son of a Jewish distiller and potash producer from a local estate, who at the beginning of the 19th century set out for the South American colony of Berbice, where he worked as a planter and merchant. In other parts of the exhibition visitors can see souvenirs and relics that nobles brought back from their travels. In additions to objects associated with hunting expeditions or pilgrimages, it will also present small items from the sphere of interest of noblewomen, such as cosmetics, porcelain and fashion accessories. The atmosphere of distant landscapes will also be brought closer by sensory elements - visitors will be able to experience the world of the Orient through the scents of spices and perfume ingredients. The tour of the exhibition is without guide. Entry to the tour route is possible immediately after purchasing a ticket. The tour time is limited only by visiting hours. All informations on the tour route is available in text descriptions.
